The Herring Hotel in Downtown Amarillo, TX was one of the local hubs for the second World War draft. When photographers were asked to tour and capture the iconic abandoned hotel in 2014, I didn't hesitate to include myself. Several of the other sister hotels to the Herring have been restored. The community still waits for this gem to rise from the ashes.
