At the end of the day, dirt and grease blanket the covered and uncovered parts of my body. My hands are rough. My muscles ache. And yet I am happy, feeling accomplished by my efforts. The same is true for many of the materials I use. They smile back at me. Their role in industry has changed. However, the efforts of their past are visible in patinas of rust and misshapen form. We are Joyfully Exhausted.

This pendant light is constructed with spokes and hubs remaining from the destruction of bike rims. All that’s left over is great material for new designs. I hate to waste.
